Protest against Saryab operation in Islamabad and Noshki

April 25, 2010

Islamabad: A large number of Baloch Students from Islamabad and Rawalpindi held a protest demonstration at Aabpara Chwok in Islamabad, against the recent Pakistani security force crack-down in several Baloch populated areas in Quetta. Strongly condemning the operation the Baloch students alleged that the Pakistani security forces violated the sanctity of Baloch houses and harassed Baloch women and children during the search operations. They appealed national and International human right organisations to take notice of Pakistani security forces atrocities in Balochistan.

They said that the current operation has exposed the so called democratic government’s claims that the military operation was halted in Balochistan. Whereas killing of a Baloch mother and the arrest of hundreds of innocent Baloch is prove of the continuous military offensives in Balochistan. The Baloch students also strongly criticised the 18th Amendment and termed it the continuation of cruelties against the Baloch people.

The students made it clear that Baloch nation cannot be intimidated by such brutal action of Pakistani security forces. They said it was now very obvious that the Pakistani rulers had no interest in Baloch people and they (rulers) were only after the Baloch Natural resources. They warned that the Baloch were now more aware of their right then ever and the rulers must immediately stop the genocide of Baloch people.

Meanwhile the Baloch National Front activists held a protest demonstration in front of Noshki press club against the killing of Bibi Shahnaz Baloch and the arrest of hundreds of Baloch people from Quetta. They urged the Baloch political parties to struggle jointly against the military repression in Balochistan. BNF leaders said that their coalition parties were struggling for the Independence of Balochistan.

They appealed the UN and other International Human Right Organisations to take notice of the ongoing brutalities of Pakistani military against the Baloch nation.
